With Alan Jackson announcing his Last Call Tour, fans clamored to get tickets for what might be the country star’s last time on stage. Wanting to celebrate his amazing career in country music, the hitmaker won over 30 awards, sold more than 75 million albums, and landed in the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. A testament to the rich history of country music, Jackson recently took the stage to perform “Remember When”, which caused fans to remember the icon’s contribution to traditional country.

Although not calling it a farewell tour, Jackson hoped to end his time on stage on his own terms. For the past few years, the country singer struggled with several health issues including Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. Causing nerve damage to the arms and legs, Jackson often found it difficult to walk. Wanting to spend more time with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren, the songwriter appeared to reminisce on his legacy when he performed “Remember When.”
Fans Worried About The Future Of Country Music Without Alan Jackson
While those in attendance soaked in the performance, fans online showered Jackson with praise for his career in country music. Some even worried about the future of the genre without stars like Jackson leaving. “Reba, Toby, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Travis Tritt, Tracy Lawrence, these are the people I grew up with and when they’re gone, I feel like country music is gone too.” Another comment read, “George Jones said it best, who’s gonna fill their shoes.”
As Jackson looked over the crowd, one fan added, “He never sold out to who he truly was as an artist. He will go down in history as one of the greatest country music artists ever to take the stage..”
With Jackson expected to end his tour in May, a press release announced that each concert would be “the last time he’ll ever perform his more-than-30 years of hits in that city and surrounding areas.” The statement continued, “The Last Call: One More for the Road Tour serves as just that — one final chance for people to see and hear the iconic singer-songwriter perform his best-loved songs — music that’s been the soundtrack of their lives — in concert.”
Marking the end of an era, Jackson appeared content with his decision and enjoyed his remaining time under the spotlight.
