With Rascal Flatts and the Backstreet Boys finding fame during the 1990s, it seemed only fitting the groups would collaborate. Given their careers in the music industry, the bands released hit songs like “Bless the Broken Road”, “I Won’t Let Go”, “Quit Playing Games”, and “I Want It That Way.” While fans of the groups could perform the songs by memory, Rascal Flatts recently teamed up with the Backstreet Boys to release a new version of the hit song “What Hurts The Most.”

On June 6th, Rascal Flatts will release their latest album. But instead of new music, the band decided to reimagine some of the classic hits with help from stars like Kelly Clarkson and the Jonas Brothers. Titled Life is a Highway: Refueled Duets, the album featured the band teaming up with a slew of top names to cover some of the biggest songs. And wanting to offer fans a taste of what is to come, Rascal Flatts released the newest version of “What Hurts The Most.”
Barely hitting social media, the new collaboration already gained thousands of views as fans loved the collaboration. Looking at the comments, they read, “I love the original and always will it’s emotional and perfect but Rascal Flatts and BSB together is pretty amazing. As a quiet overthinker I feel this version with all their voices and really portrays the pain and pressure of keeping things buried deep inside.” Another person continued, “This is something I never thought of needing in my life and for it to be one of my absolute favorite songs of Rascal Flatts. And to be with a band (Backstreet Boys) that holds a special place in my heart, is everything. Phenomenal.”
