DJ John Summit and Levity Play Impromptu Set at Bonnaroo Campgrounds After Festival Is Canceled

Two acts did their best to cheer up would be attendees of Bonnaroo after the 2025 music festival was canceled.

When the festival was called off on its second day amid flooding and severe weather, DJ John Summit took to his Instagram Story to express his disappointment.

“So bummed for everyone who came, this was gonna be a special one but u can’t control Mother Nature,” he wrote, per The Tennesseean. “Stay safe til next time fam.”

Summit, who was scheduled to play the festival before its cancelation, decided to do his best to raise spirits.

People staying at Bonnaroo’s campgrounds soon began flooding social media with videos of the DJ performing for them.

Per the posts, Levity, an EDM trio, joined Summit during the impromptu set. The performance included performances of “Sweet Caroline” and other tracks.

One thrilled attendee of the unexpected show dubbed the experience “Johnnaroo.”

Another person praised Summit as “a man of the people.” The DJ shared that post on his Instagram Story, writing, “Had to make the best of a s**t situation.”

Artists Play Makeup Shows After Bonnaroo Is Canceled

Summit and Levity weren’t the only artists to try and appease sad fans in the wake of Bonnaroo’s cancelation.

Per The Tennessean, artists including Remi Wolf, Royel Otis, Hot Mulligan, Jack’s Mannequin, Natasha Bedingfield, and Mt. Joy all announced they’d play sets in Nashville over the weekend.

Additionally, Nashville businesses used the disappointment to try and drum up business. Many bars, music venues, and other establishments announced drink specials and admission discounts to people with a Bonnaroo wristband.

As for the financial aspect of the canceled festival, Bonnaroo said they’d refund one-day ticket holders for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 100 percent, and four-day ticket holders at 75 percent.
