Keith Urban Abruptly Leaves Interview After Host Asked Personal Question About Wife Nicole Kidman

Given his years in country music, Keith Urban took part in countless interviews. And throughout that time, he answered questions about his career, his childhood, and his inspiration. Always more than willing to discuss his career in country music, the singer kept his personal life private. And with Urban marrying Nicole Kidman in 2006, the couple couldn’t stay away from the spotlight. But recently, the singer completely shutdown an interview when asked an uncomfortable question about his wife’s acting career.

The incident took place when Urban called into Mix 102.3’s Hayley & Max in the Morning. Although appearing to be just a normal interview, it took a drastic turn when the host wanted him to take part in a segment called the “Wall of Truth.” While there to promote his High and Alive World Tour, Urban seemed open to the idea. That drastically changed when he heard the first question.

Taking charge, host Max Burford asked Urban, “What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron having these beautiful love scenes on TV and radio?”

Not The First Time Keith Urban Set Boundaries Around His Personal Life

The segment didn’t last long as the Zoom call quickly ended after Burford finished the question. With the host somewhat confused by the silence, one of the producers said, “I think his team hung up on us because they didn’t want us to ask that question. He’s gone, see you Keith.”

While sharing the screen with Efron in Netflix’s A Family Affair, Urban didn’t want to discuss his own family with the radio station. Still, Burford continued on, wondering why his co-host, Hayley Pearson, didn’t warn him. “Does Keith Urban hate us? Do we have beef with Keith Urban now? If you knew this was going to happen, Hayley, why didn’t you stop me asking the question?”

Although fashioning a career in country music for several decades, it seemed this wasn’t the first time Urban needed to set boundaries when it came to his personal life. Just last year, the singer appeared on the Jam Nation with Jonesy & Amanda podcast where he was asked about his marriage to Kidman. While listening to the question, Urban insisted, “Anyway, moving on.”
