For nearly four decades, Darius Rucker traveled all over the country, sharing his love for country music with hits like “Wagon Wheel”, and “Homegrown Honey.” Throughout that time, the singer also received a lifetime worth of experience on what it takes to become a top name in country music. And while his career helped him gain millions of fans, the singer also knew what a rigorous performance schedule could do to a voice. Recently, Rucker was forced to end a show early after losing his voice. With fans concerned, the singer’s team shared an update about future performances.

Last Saturday, Rucker took the stage in Atlantic City for what appeared to be just another show. But the singer soon realized something was wrong with his voice. Not able to continue, the concert ended early. Looking at Rucker’s schedule, he lined up performances until the middle of December. While those who purchased tickets to one of his many concerts left were worried, they can rest easy as Rucker’s camp insisted he would perform in Hollywood, Florida, on July 19th.
Appearing to only need a few days to allow his voice to recuperate, Rucker was ready to get back on the road. With his tour taking him all over the world, Florida will host the singer for three shows. One day after his concert in Hollywood, he will travel to Tampa for another show. And jumping ahead to December, he will finish the tour with one last Florida concert on the 13th.
Darius Rucker Issues Refunds After Ending Concert Early
As for the mishap during his Atlantic City set, Rucker admitted to the crowd, “Y’all I can’t sing anymore. I will play on more song. I promise you we’re going to figure this out. You’re gonna get your money back. We’re gonna figure this out. I just can’t sing.”
With Rucker explaining he wanted to make it up to the fans, his schedule had other plans. “We looked at every option to reschedule, but unfortunately, it’s just not possible this year, so we’re issuing full refunds. The venue will send details to you directly. Thank you so much for all your kind messages wishing me well. Love y’all and see you soon!”
Finding his way back to the stage, Rucker hoped to finish the rest of his tour without needing any more “vocal rest.”
