This summer, The All-American Rejects have been on an unprecedented run. That unprecedented run is a result of their several impromptu and casual pop-up shows in backyards and other unexpected venues. In recent history, there hasn’t been anything like it, and no band of their stature has seemingly ever resorted to these types of performances. Consequently, The Rejects’ music and likeness have epically reentered the mainstream.

In the early and mid-2000s, The All-American Rejects released hit songs “Dirty Little Secret”, “Move Along”, “Swing Swing”, and their most notable single, “Gives You Hell”. The singles mentioned have helped define the garage band pop-punk movement of the 2000s, and consequently, The Rejects’ legacy is up there with other bands such as Weezer, Linkin Park, The Strokes, and The Killers. Rather recently, their music has touched the new generation, and that is what seemingly set them off on their current and unprecedented tour.
In the last few months, The All-American Rejects have played pop-up shows at unconventional venues in Columbia(Missouri), Nashville, Green Bay(Wisconsin), Los Angeles, Chicago, Ames(Iowa), and Minneapolis. Prior to these shows, the band hadn’t toured in nearly a decade. The shows have been a hit and have gone viral on nearly every single occasion. As a result of the concerts’ success, The All-American Rejects’ resurgence has only grown, and they’ve had a great time doing it.
The All-American Rejects Are Having The Time of Their Lives
In a recent interview with CNN, The Rejects divulged the importance of these shows, and also how they have satisfied them as well. Tyson Ritter told CNN, “This is the best experience that we’ve ever had playing music in this band, and we are going to savor every bit of it.”
Luckily, the footage from these shows will not just reside on social media, as Ritter also teased that The Rejects might release some of this footage along with the impending release of their next album, Sandbox. Regarding the footage, Ritter stated, “What we captured is something that is a once-in-a-lifetime thing for us and for those who were there,” and “I’m just stoked that somebody was there to capture it.”
This October, The All-American Rejects will take on a bigger stage when they go on tour with The Jonas Brothers. However, that tour will certainly not overshadow this summer’s.
