Truckin’ and Streamin’: Dead & Company’s Concerts Celebrating the Grateful Dead’s 60th Anniversary to Be Livestreamed

The Grateful Dead spinoff group Dead & Company are celebrating the legendary jam band’s 60th anniversary with three sold-out concerts. The shows will take place in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on August 1, 2, and 3. Now comes word that fans who aren’t able to attend the shows will be able to watch them anywhere in the world via a pay-per-view livestream hosted by nugs.net.

The concerts will be streamed in two formats—high-definition (HD) and ultra-high-def 4K. Fans will be able to purchase streams of the individual concerts for $39.99 in HD and $49.99 in 4K. Three-show bundles are priced at $99.99 in HD and $129.99 in 4K.

The concerts will feature Dead & Company playing two sets of Grateful Dead music, as well as an opening performance by a different guest artist each night. The shows will be held on the Polo Field in Golden Gate Park. Each concert will feature a unique set.

The support acts will be Billy Strings on Friday, August 1; Sturgill “Johnny Blue Skies” Simpson on Saturday, August 2; and Trey Anastasio Band on Sunday, August 3.

The livestreams of the shows also will be available for on-demand viewing for 48 hours after the events end. In addition, new subscribers to nugs purchasing a livestream will be treated to a 60-day all-access pass. This will allow viewers to watch streaming audio and video from hundreds of artists in nugs’ database, including performances by Dead & Company, the Grateful Dead, and other related acts.

One Golden Gate Park Concert Will Be Shown in IMAX Theaters

The third and final concert of Dead & Company’s series of 60th anniversary Grateful Dead shows, on August 3, also will be screened in select IMAX theaters across the U.S. and Canada that day.

Tickets for the screenings can be purchased now at IMAX.com/deadandcompany. Those purchasing tickets will receive a commemorative poster and a laminate/lanyard at the theater.

More About Dead & Company

The current Dead & Company lineup includes founding Grateful Dead singer/guitarist Bob Weir and longtime percussionist Mickey Hart. The group also features singer/guitarist John Mayer, ex-Allman Brothers Band bassist Oteil Burbridge, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, and drummer Jay Lane. Chimenti and Lane also are members of Weir’s side groups RatDog and Wolf Bros.

Founding Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann also was an original member of Dead & Company, but he departed the group in 2023. It’s not known if Kreutzmann will take part in the 60th anniversary concerts.
