Becoming a highlight of the football season, Underwood returned for her 13th consecutive season. Although expanding her own career, which included judging on American Idol, the singer always found time for the NFL. Once helmed by stars like Pink and Faith Hill, producers eventually found the perfect voice with Underwood.

Posting a teaser on Instagram, the video not only showcased the NFL but once again proved the power Underwood brought to each and every performance. Completely nailing the anthem, fans could barely contain their excitement. “Can’t wait for the new season to start, Carrie Underwood is absolutely the best. One of the most beautiful voices ever and with all the respect that she deserves. She’s one of the most beautiful ladies in the world. God bless her.” The compliments continued to stack up. “Can’t wait. My favorite part about Sunday Night Football.”

Carrie Underwood Thanks ‘Sunday Night Football’ Team For Raising The Bar

While performing the anthem over 13 seasons, the creative director for Sunday Night Football, Tripp Dixon, admitted the team took a different approach this year. “For the 20th season of SNF, we wanted to set the tone for the night by reimagining the anthem sound in a way that plays to Carrie’s powerhouse vocals, while visually creating a seamless blend of stylized shots and behind-the-scenes moments evoking the national roadshow that is Sunday Night Football, week after week in the fall.”

Excited for fans to see what the team produced, Underwood praised Tripp for continuing to raise the bar. “As always, Tripp and the creative team continue to raise the bar, bringing the high energy and stunning visuals that the Sunday Night Football audience has come to expect year after year.”

Don’t miss Sunday Night Football, airing on Sunday, September 7th, with the pre-game starting at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
