Never wanting to disappoint their fans, most singers will take the stage sick, hurt, and even struggling emotionally. But when it comes to their voice, there is little they can do. Going to extraordinary lengths to keep their voice healthy, country singer Ashley McBryde recently shared the news that she needed vocal rest after hurting her voice. Not wanting to do more damage, she opted not to speak. And now, it appeared that McBryde’s voice struggle continued as she canceled her upcoming performances.

Posting an update on her Instagram Stories, McBryde wrote, “My voice has been struggling over the past few weeks, and as much as it pains me, I won’t be able to play my shows this week.” While not the news fans who purchased tickets wanted to hear, or read, she added, “My doctors have made it crystal clear: my voice needs complete rest to heal.”

With McBryde not wanting to let her fans down, she promised, “There’s nothing I want more than to be back giving you 100%. Thank you for understanding…I’ll see you soon.”

Looking at Ashley McBryde’s schedule, the hitmaker hoped to recover for her show in Tampa, Florida, at the MidFlorida Credit Union on August 22nd. But with the concert taking place next week, it’s unclear if the country star will be fully healed by that time. Moving forward, McBryde will conclude 2025 with a series of performances. Scheduling shows in September, October, and November, her last concert of the year will take place on December 12th at Chief’s in Nashville.
Although upset over the cancellation, McBryde made the most of the situation when she shared a video on her Instagram. Unable to talk, she decided to write her words down. “Hi guys. So…I hurt my throat. So no talking if I want to be able to sing to you.” Still staying positive throughout the healing process, she joked it would be a great time to learn “ASL.”
As for fans, they rallied around the singer, commenting, “I’m so sorry. Been there, done that, hated it. Sending healing prayers your way.” One person continued, “Oh no get those healed up soon ,so sorry to hear this see you back in action soon.”
Seeing the positive in the situation, Ashley McBryde will surely find her way back to the stage in the coming weeks.
