Abi Carter is having a moment, and she isn’t wasting a single second of it. Going on a year since her historic American Idol victory, the 22-year-old singer-songwriter from Indio, California, has released her debut album and launched her first-ever headlining tour. And apparently, she still has more to say. Carter will release a deluxe version of her first post-Idol album later this month.

Is ‘American Idol’ Champ Abi Carter Hinting at Another Tour?
Taking to Instagram on Thursday (April 3), Abi Carter informed fans that new music is on its way. The deluxe version of her debut album, ghosts in the backyard, is set for an April 25 release, complete with “a couple extra tracks.”
Additionally, the “Peppermint Sky” singer may have foreshadowed another tour with this announcement. “I absolutely cannot wait to be singing these songs with you guys when I inevitably hit the road again,” Carter wrote. adding an old-school winking emoji for good measure.
Carter launched her Ghosts in the Backyard Tour in February, a year to the day after punching her golden ticket to Hollywood on American Idol. She wrapped it up on March 15 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Coincidentally (or not) the deluxe album’s release date coincides with Carter’s Stagecoach debut. She will join A-list artists like Jelly Roll, Luke Combs, Ashley McBryde, and Zach Bryan at the country music festival in her hometown of Indio, California.
“STAGECOACH AND DELUXE ALBUM WE ARE LIVING,” commented one ecstatic fan on Carter’s Instagram announcement.

American Idol viewers know that Abi Carter can belt angsty early-aughts pop-rock ballads with the best of them. Many believe she secured her season 22 title with a haunting spin on Evanescence’s “Bring Me to Life.”
During a recent tour appearance, the singer-songwriter showed she’s still got it with an electrifying cover of Paramore’s “Misery Business.” Carter shared a clip of the performance on social media, captioned, “”‘All hail Hayley Williams’” we say in unison.”
More like, “All hail Abi Carter.”
Fans were predictably enraptured by Carter’s Hayley Williams impersonation. “Abi Carter + Misery Business | Name a more iconic duo,” one Instagram user commented.
