Ashley McBryde Is Opening “A New Kind of Bar” on Broadway

Nashville’s famed Broadway Street pulls off the rare feat of drawing locals and visitors alike. And in recent years, the major Music City thoroughfare has become a hub for artist-themed establishments, with Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, and Morgan Wallen just some of the names lining the street. Now, Ashley McBryde is joining that list, offering patrons an experience previously missing from the entertainment district.

Taking to her social media Friday, Aug. 1, McBryde announced that her brand-new bar, Redemption, is coming to the fifth floor of Eric Church’s bar, Chief’s on Broadway. Unlike the booze-soaked honky-tonks that made Nashville what it is today, Redemption will prioritize non-alcoholic options.

Ashley McBryde Is Three Years Sober

In June 2025, Ashley McBryde celebrated three years alcohol-free. So the “Girl Goin’ Nowhere” singer, 42, knows firsthand that the Music City nightlife scene doesn’t have much to offer its sober patrons beyond “soda water and a lime.”

“Some of my favorite places to socialize became wildly unaccommodating when the only thing that changed was what was in my cup,” McBryde said in a statement.

Therefore, “It was vital that I create a space where not drinking is the forethought – normalized,” she said. “You can get alcohol drinks in Redemption too, because everyone is welcome.”

Aptly named for her 2016 song, McBryde hopes Redemption will offer a space to “connect, unwind, and hear original songs.”

“When the opportunity to make my mark on Broadway came, I knew I wanted to create a space that champions what’s made a difference in my life; a space that lifts up the brushed aside, and makes sure everyone feels welcome,” the CMA Award-winning artist added.

“You Just Do the Work”

In a February 2024 interview with CBS News Sunday Morning, Ashley McBryde revealed she had stopped drinking alcohol nearly two years earlier.

“Several times I have said, my God, if you’d told me how good things get, pretty quickly, I would’ve stopped drinking a long time ago,” said the Grammy winner. “I had no idea that I was this far in my way.”

In an April 2025 interview with Audacy, McBryde got candid about the ongoing nature of her journey. “At no point is there a finish line that you get to run through and break the paper,” she said. “You just do the work, and it’s a lot of heavy lifting, and it’s absolutely worth it.”
