At Last, Luke Combs Is Getting His Music City Walk of Fame Star—and You Can Attend if You’re in Nashville

Since releasing his debut album, This One’s For You, in 2017, Luke Combs has fully come into his own as a country music star. Sending 16 singles to the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart, the two-time Entertainer of the Year, 35, premiered a more mature sound on last year’s Fathers & Sons. Having solidified his place among country music’s elite, Combs learned mid-show last year that he would become a member of Nashville’s Music City Walk Of Fame. Now, after a monthslong delay, the “Fast Car” crooner will finally receive his star this month.

Walk of Fame Induction Set For March 20

Last fall, Luke Combs was set to join this year’s Walk of Fame induction class members, including the late “tropical troubadour” Jimmy Buffett. Unfortunately, the Oct. 30 ceremony conflicted with Combs’ performance at the “Concert for Carolina” benefit for Hurricane Helene relief.

According to Thursday’s (March 7) announcement from the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, the six-time CMA Award winner will receive the Walk of Fame’s 109th star during a ceremony Thursday, March 20. Fans can attend the ceremony, set for 12:30 p.m. at the Music City Walk of Fame Park in Nashville.

“Luke Combs has made an undeniable impact on country music, capturing the hearts of fans around the world with his powerful voice, heartfelt songwriting, and genuine authenticity,” said Doug Kreulen, Chairman of Music City Inc., the foundation of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. “His journey from playing small venues to selling out stadiums is a testament to his talent, dedication and deep connection to music lovers, making him a perfect addition to the Music City Walk of Fame.”

Watch the Moment Luke Combs Learned of His Invitation

Last year, Luke Combs celebrated his inaugural Bootleggers Bonfire festival n Miramar Beach, Florida. He was wrapping up his headlining set on the final day when his manager, Christopher Kappy, strode onstage.

“Ten years ago, you moved to Nashville without a record deal, without a publisher, with some songs and a dream,” Kappy announced to a bemused Combs. “Could you please turn around and face this screen?”

The Grammy winner turned to find a message on the Jumbotron behind him: “Congratulations Luke Combs on your upcoming induction into the Music City Walk Of Fame.”

After ribbing his manager for normally being “awful at surprises, Combs sheepishly admitted, “He f—ing got me this time.”

“I would have never expected anything like that,” the “When It Rains It Pours” hitmaker said. “I’m not even certain that I deserve something like that.”
