Beyoncé Finds a New Mode of Transportation Following Cowboy Carter Tour Near-Disaster

2024 was undoubtedly the year of Beyoncé as she leaned into her Texas roots on Act II: Cowboy Carter. First, she became the first Black woman to top Billboard’s country album chart since its 1964 inception. She made history yet again in 2025, becoming the first Black woman to win the trophy Best Country Album. Now, the former Destiny’s Child member, 43, is taking her act on the road with the highly-anticipated Cowboy Carter tour. However, a recent technical mishap in her hometown caused Queen Bey to make some logistical changes.

Beyoncé Swaps Out Red Car For Gold Horse in “16 Carriages” Performance

Beyoncé’s Thursday (July 10) show at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium featured a brand-new prop. As she began singing “16 Carriages,” the 35-time Grammy winner glided above the crowd on a golden animatronic stallion.

Clips from the concert show the horse’s legs actually moving, as if it were prancing above the audience’s head. The Cut shared a clip of the awe-inspiring moment on TikTok, writing, “The car malfunction couldn’t stop our queen!”

Watch This Near-Catastrophic Technical Gaffe

The prop switch comes just weeks after Beyoncé had to abruptly halt her June 28 hometown show at Houston’s NRG Stadium following a dangerous prop malfunction.

When “16 Carriages” popped up on the setlist, the Golden Globe nominee made her entrance atop a red convertible suspended above the crowd. Quickly, however, things went sideways (literally.)

“Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop,” the pop diva said as the car tilted dangerously mid-air.

Abruptly, the music cut off. The crowd then began cheering for Beyoncé, who thanked them for their patience as crews worked to bring her down to earth.

Recovering quickly like the consummate professional she is, the “Break My Soul” singer addressed the mishap once she was safely back to earth.

“If ever I fall, I know y’all would catch me,” she said, to deafening cheers that confirmed her statement.
