Brad Paisley Mourns the Loss of Family’s First Home in Pacific Palisades Wildfire: “So Tragic and Sad”

Brad Paisley released his most commercially successful country music album, Mud on the Tires, in 2003. That same year, he married Kimberly Williams-Paisley. The couple has consistently given back to their community, opening two free grocery stores for Nashville families grappling with food insecurity. Sadly, the “I’m Gonna Miss Her” singer recently took to social media to share that his family’s first-ever home has been destroyed by wildfires currently raging across California.

Brad Paisley Doesn’t “Know Where to Begin” To Help With California Wildfires

At least five fires across the Los Angeles area had scorched more than 45 square miles as of Thursday (Jan. 9,) killing at least five people and destroying more than 1,300 structures.

Sadly, one of those structures is the first home Brad Paisley ever bought with wife Kim. The 14-time CMA Award winner shared a picture of firefighters battling the catastrophic flames.

“So many good people displaced, devastated and cast out all over LA,” Paisley wrote Wednesday (Jan. 8.) “I would post a link to donate or raise awareness or something but it all feels so much bigger than that. I don’t know where to begin.”

The Most Destructive Fire in Los Angeles History

As of Thursday (Jan. 9) morning, firefighters were still struggling to contain the 17,000-acre wildfire in Pacific Palisades. Los Angeles City Fire Chief Kristin M. Crowley called it “one of the most destructive natural disasters in the history of Los Angeles.”

In the meantime, Brad Paisley and wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley join thousands in grieving lost memories. On Instagram, the country star reminisced about welcoming their two sons, Huck, now 17, and 15-year-old Jasper, in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles.

“We lived in Pacific Palisades for years,” Paisley wrote Wednesday. “It was the first house Kim and I bought together. Memories were made with some of our dearest friends – the first nursery we had to prep, the birthing classes with @kevinnealon and @sukiyeagley. Walking to the local restaurants, the Gelson’s, and the Starbucks.”

He continued, “I’m sure those of you reading this will find some way to help if you can, but mostly right now I just want to mourn the loss of a town. And acknowledge the beauty and the memories of what it was. It is all so tragic and sad.”
