Can We “Please Please Please” Get an Encore? Eric Church and Lukas Nelson Deliver Unexpectedly Brilliant Sabrina Carpenter Cover at Chief’s Nashville

Although known for hit songs like “Springsteen” and “Hell of a View”, Eric Church expanded his stardom beyond the stage when he opened his own restaurant and bar in Nashville called Chief’s. While some might believe the singer was a fan of the Kansas City football team, the name of his six-story bar was a nod to his grandfather, who happened to be a police chief. Besides the place Morgan Wallen decided to throw a chair from the rooftop, the venue also came with a stage that recently welcomed Lukas Nelson and Church as they performed “Please Please Please.”

While both singers have a long list of hit songs to pick from, the idea of covering one of Sabrina Carpenter’s hits might be a surprise. But when Nelson walked up to the mic, he quickly jumped into the song without a second thought. With Church right beside him, the two hitmakers seemed right at home when celebrating the singer known for pop songs like “Nonsense.” As for “Please Please Please”, the song ended up nominated for Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards.

As Nelson made his way through the lyrics, the entire bar cheered him on. Even Ernest jumped into the comment section to support his fellow artists, dropping a couple of heart emojis.

Eric Church Discusses Morgan Wallen’s Viral Moment At Chief’s

Outside of the special performance, last month, Church opened up about his bar and how Wallen helped the venue become famous. Although not a highlight for Wallen, Church insisted, “It was actually a good thing for Mo. I think that was a line for him, and he’s done really well since then – it was a thing he’s reacted positively to as a person.”

Apparently, Church knew about the incident even before the news. “Morgan called me from the street after it happened. I was watching college basketball, and he said, ‘Hey, this just happened.’ I said, ‘Uh-oh.’ I knew it was gonna be noisy, and it was – it was damn noisy. The next day on Fox News, the number one story was Morgan throwing a chair, and number two was Israel and Gaza. But you just kind of roll with it.”

Glad that Wallen changed his ways and stepped away from the spotlight, both singers released new albums this year. For Church, he released Evangeline vs. The Machine. And looking at Wallen, he produced the hit album I’m The Problem. With both singers expanding their careers, the future seemed bright for the singers/bar owners.
