In 2024, a pericarditis diagnosis forced Grammy-winning country artist Carly Pearce to slow down and take some time for herself. Pericarditis is swelling and irritation of the tissue surrounding the heart, and it can often cause sharp chest pain. However, the “hummingbird” singer didn’t let it derail her career, continuing an international tour and teaming up with Michael Bublé for a Christmas duet. Now it’s a brand-new year, and Pearce is ready for a little sunshine. So she’s making her own with this hopeful unreleased tune.

New Year, New Music?
Carly Pearce delighted fans when she released Hummingbird, her fourth studio album, in June 2024. Now, the “Every Little Thing” hitmaker is kicking off 2025 with more new music. Her social media followers got a snippet of a brand-new song Saturday (Jan. 4.)
“starting 2025 with a brand new one that feels perfect for all of us ready for a little sunshine after the storm,” Pearce wrote in the caption.
The gently hopeful tune speaks to the promise of new beginnings: No clouds, no lining / No dirt, no diamond / No low, no high / No wrong, no right / No break, no fixing / No lose, no winning / May might bring showers / But no rain, no flowers.
The news, understandably, excited fans. “OH MY GOD CARLY, YOU CAN‘T IMAGINE HOW EXCITED I AM FOR A BRAND NEW ONE!” one Instagram user commented. “Beautiful, beautiful snippet of it.”
Others called for the full version’s immediate release. “CARLY I NEED,” one wrote. Another added simply, “release now.”
Carly Pearce Discusses Her Biggest Win—And It Has Nothing to Do With Music
Carly Pearce has certainly come by all her success honestly. After signing and then losing a record deal with Sony in 2012, the Kentucky singer-songwriter worked a series of part-time jobs between relentlessly networking in the country music industry. That paid off when she landed another deal in 2015, releasing her first single, “Every Little Thing,” two years later. Since then, she has nabbed four ACM Awards, three CMAs, and one Grammy.
However, the “I Hope You’re Happy Now” recently took to social media to celebrate her biggest accomplishment—and it had nothing to do with music.
“Of ALLLLL the incredible things that have happened in my career over the last 8 years, I have to say going to a liquor store and buying my own wine that means so much to me for the first time is very high on that list,” Pearce wrote on Instagram Sunday (Jan. 5.)
