Charles Wesley Godwin Knows Firsthand The Power Of A Flood

Although heartbreaking to see how many lives have been lost due to the storm, Godwin knew firsthand how bad a storm can get. He added in the caption, “I’ve seen firsthand how flooding can impact communities, both in my home state of West Virginia and in places like Asheville, where I recorded Family Ties and have played some of the most memorable shows of my career.”

As for the donations made by Godwin, he explained, “I’m donating 100% of the profits from my online merch store to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, which supports relief and rebuilding efforts after the flood of July 4, 2025.”

Gaining thousands of likes, fans supported Godwin’s initiative to help those in need. “Great move. I know we all wish we could do more, but thank you for your part CWG.” Another comment read, “As a WV native living in the TX Hill Country—thank you!.”

Over the last few days, first responders from the FBI, the National Guard, and even the boarder patrol worked tirelessly to find each missing person. For one volunteer, who worked several floods before, he insisted it was nothing short of a nightmare. “I’ve done the floods down in East Texas and Southeast Texas, and hurricanes, and this is a nightmare.”

While Godwin and several other country music stars have helped support the relief efforts, families impacted by the flood continue to process the horrible incident.
