Chris Stapleton’s Wife Morgane Can’t Stop Blushing as He Serenades Her Onstage at Madison Square Garden

Chris Stapleton is one of country music’s most celebrated songwriters, and wife Morgane is his greatest muse. Beyond that, however, she is a talented singer-songwriter in her own right, performing background, harmony, and duet vocals in her husband’s band. The pair have sustained both their musical and romantic chemistry in nearly two decades of marriage. And if you need any proof of that, just watch the performance below.

Chris Stapleton Serenades “The Stone Cold Love of My Life”

Over the weekend of July 25-26, Chris Stapleton brought his All-American Road Show to New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden. Although trotting out time-tested hits such as “Tennessee Whiskey” and “White Horse,” the weekend’s best moment came in the form of an unreleased song.

Directly facing his wife of 18 years, Stapleton strummed his guitar as he crooned, Baby, baby, baby / Well, this is my lady / She also happens to be my wife / Mother of my five children / the stone-cold love of my life.

It’s an admirable feat that Morgane Stapleton managed not to melt into a puddle right there onstage at Madison Square Garden. Video footage of the heartfelt moment showed her blushing “the whole time.”

“So I would probably faint,” confessed one TikTok user.

“he loves that woman and so do we!!!” declared another.

Morgane, 42, joined her husband during the second night for a rendition of “You Are My Sunshine” that similarly had fans melting. “The chemistry between you and your wife is [fire emoji],” one Instagram user wrote.

Their Love Story: “OK, I Got You”

Morgane and Chris Stapleton met in 2003 while working at adjacent publishing houses in Nashville. At the time, Morgane was “still trying to find my voice” after signing with the label Arista Nashville. This was complicated somewhat by her aversion to the spotlight. “It’s not for everybody,” she told the New York Times in 2017.

Sharing a stage with her husband (they married in 2007) was different. “He definitely gave me a boost of ‘you can do this’ — not because he said it, but just because he was standing with me,” she said.

“As much as I can talk about him being a comfort to me, I think in that way I also am a comfort to him,” she added. “We can look at each other and know, ‘O.K., I got you.’”
