Clay Walker’s talents clearly run in the family. During his set at Rock the South, the country singer revealed he had someone special that he wanted to bring up to the stage.

That surprise guest was none other than Walker’s 12-year-old son, Elijah, whom he called his “mini me.”
“I promise this was not rehearsed or planned or anything, but he sings around the house and it sounds pretty good,” Walker told the crowd. “I wanted to try it out here and see what it would sound like out here.”
What followed was a masterful musical moment. The younger Walker delivered an expert performance of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” while his dad accompanied him on guitar.
After his incredible performance, Walker instructed his son to walk to the end of the stage and take a bow.
“So proud of this young man. I totally surprised him, and he didn’t hesitate,” Walker wrote on Instagram after the show. “Thank you for the 30k fans who sang along with him and made this an epic moment.”
Clay Walker’s Health Battle
The sweet moment came amid a tough summer for the singer. Walker, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis nearly two decades ago, recently had to cancel a show due to side effects of his MS treatment.
“Dear friends & country music fans, I recently had a procedure that could really help my MS… unfortunately I’ve got some side effects that have left me unable to perform tonight at Timberwood Amphitheater in Hot Springs, Arkansas,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “I really tried my best to pull through for you all, which is why I waited until this morning to make this call.”
“I look forward to returning to Arkansas soon, and I’m bummed to miss you all tonight,” Walker added. “We will see everyone back out on the road soon!”
He managed to make it through his whole Rock the South set one week later. However, Walker had to be helped off of the stage when his performance came to an end.
