AMBITIONS: To inspire the world with my testimony and my music. Music is the universal language of the world, and it should be used to connect people and make the world a better place. I’ve been blessed with a gift and want to put it to good use. I also want to inspire aspiring artists to be brave with their craft. Its very rewarding to see another artist take and use your advice to further their own artistry. I believe in paying it forward. Its important for artists to support each other and encourage each other in this cut throat industry. There is no such thing as “competition” in the professional music world. Only camaraderie. Oh, and yes, Id love a Grammy.

CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: My mother. Mother of 4 kids, she pursued a career in music after divorcing my father in the early 90s. She brought me to every karaoke bar in the Houston area at 11 years old and let me sing the ENTIRE Bodyguard soundtrack. Most parents would call her crazy for that, but I call it a blessing. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be doing what I am doing today

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Whitney Houston, Jared Leto, Rupaul, Questlove, and my 18 year old self.
MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: Stevie Wonder at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN in December of 2010. It was a spiritual and life changing experience. He brought us to church, had us all hollering and stomping to his music! Stevie told us stories behind each and everyone one of his songs. Cloud 9 couldn’t touch that concert experience
I WROTE THIS SONG: “Fighting for Love” came out of a time where both Jordan and I were going through broken relationships. Each of us were at a point in our separate relationships where we had to decide if we were going to give up, or fight for what we wanted. An hour after we started writing, we had a finished song and neither one of us really knew what had happened. When you write from the heart about real, current experiences, the music flows out of you that much more naturally. It was a special time in both of our lives where we learned a lot about ourselves and also love. If you want something bad enough, you’ll be willing to fight for it.
