Dolly Parton Just Snagged the No. 1 Spot on the Classic Rock Charts

Back in 1985, Mötley Crüe released their third studio album with Theatre of Pain. Among the songs featured on the album was the hit “Home Sweet Home”. Given the popularity of the song with fans over the years, several stars covered it, including country singer Carrie Underwood. But with 2025 marking the 40th anniversary of “Home Sweet Home”, Mötley Crüe decided to bring in country music legend Dolly Parton for a special version. And appearing to make the right decision, the song landed both Dolly and Mötley Crüe a No. 1 hit.

Just last month, Mötley Crüe and Dolly joined forces to bring new life to the classic song. And when releasing the numbers for the Mediabase Classic Rock Songs chart, the stars proved yet again why they had lasting careers in the music industry. Just the latest No.1 hit for Dolly, the new version will be featured on the new project from Mötley Crüe called From The Beginning, which will release on September 12, 2025.

Besides just getting the chance to work with Dolly, Mötley Crüe wanted to celebrate the moment by releasing special merchandise surrounding the collaboration. Meshing their names together, fans can purchase Dölly Crüe shirts and tote bags on the band’s website

Dolly Parton Considered Collaborating With Mötley Crüe An “Honor”

While thrilled about grabbing the No. 1 spot, Mötley Crüe already showered Dolly in praise, explaining how much the moment meant to the band. “For an icon like Dolly Parton to sing on a song that has not only meant so much to us but to all the fans through the years, is a career high that means a lot to us. We couldn’t be happier to celebrate the 40th anniversary of ‘Home Sweet Home’ in this special way, and we’re excited to share this version of the song with all the Dolly and Mötley fans around the world.”

Although coming from two drastically different genres of music, both Mötley Crüe and Dolly understood the impact they had on the music industry. And for Dolly, she added her thoughts on the collaboration, stating, “It was an honor and a joy working in the studio on Mötley Crüe’s 40th Anniversary re-release of ‘Home Sweet Home’. I was so pleased that they would ask me to sing on such a classic.”

Outside of the studio, the new version was more than a collaboration. A portion of the proceeds from the single will go to help the Covenant House, which provided shelter, resources, and even food to those facing homelessness.
