“Hands Down the Biggest Moment of My Entire Life”: Yungblud Releases Official Cover of Black Sabbath’s “Changes” for Charity

With Ozzy Osbourne playing such a crucial role in the development of heavy metal over the decades, it should come as no surprise that his final concert would bring in a staggering amount of money. Promoting the Back to the Beginning concert over the last few months, Ozzy joined forces with the original lineup of Black Sabbath on July 5th for one final set. And throughout the concert, which brought in nearly $200 million for charity, stars like Yungblud took the stage to honor the Prince of Darkness and his legacy. With his cover of “Changes” gaining high praise, Yungblud decided to release his version. And much like Ozzy, the singer did it for charity.

While not wanting his final to be a cash grab, Ozzy, with the help of his wife, Sharon Osbourne, looked to not only celebrate his career but also help raise funds for charity. Besides splitting the proceeds among Cure Parkinson’s, Acorns Children’s Hospice, and Birmingham Children’s Hospital, the concert was nothing short of historic. Now, Yungblud was looking to follow in the footsteps of Ozzy by donating money raised from “Changes” to the same charities. Stream “Changes” HERE.

Yungblud Discussing This “Biggest Moment Of His Entire Life”

Speaking about his decisions to release the cover, Yungblud said, “This was hands down the biggest moment of my entire life. I got to stand on stage and honour one of my heroes, and the fact that it has touched so many is truly overwhelming.”

Although knowing his version would be immortalized in heavy metal, the singer added, “The best part about this release is that we can take such a monumental moment, immortalise it on tape, release it and donate all the money to such important causes in Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice. This is what Rock and roll is about. Stream it, buy it, add it to your playlist – let’s raise some f****** money.”

Featuring several performances throughout the evening by Metallica, Pantera, Steven Tyler, Guns ‘N Roses, Tool, Anthrax, and several others, the Back to the Beginning concert proved that even if the event marked the end of Ozzy’s career, his legacy continued to shine bright.
