The pair teamed up to perform Strait’s 2001 hit “Run,” as well as his 2007 single, “How ‘Bout Them Cowgirls.” Fans heard Lambert’s voice before they saw her, as the singer made her way out onto the stage as she sang the first track.

The crowd roared in excitement after Lambert appeared and offered hearty applause as “Run” came to an end.

“Wow, this is gonna be a good night,” Strait remarked, before he and Lambert started singing their second song of the night.

Attendees were equally enthusiastic about the pair’s performance of “How ‘Bout Them Cowgirls.” Once the song concluded, Strait and Lambert shared a hug, before the latter singer left the stage to great applause.

Lambert posted on Instagram after performing with Strait, sharing several photos from the evening. She captioned the post simply, “How bout them cowgirls 🤠”

That wasn’t Lambert’s only time on stage during the concert. Before Strait came out for his set, Stapleton invited Lambert to perform their new duet, “A Song to Sing.”

Ahead of the release of the track, Lambert took to her Instagram Stories to tease the tune.

“Chris understands the emotion of this song from the inside out, because he and Morgane [Stapleton’s wife] have both lived it,” she wrote at the time. “To have someone so soulful and willing to go into the heart of the feelings, to share the pull of the road and creative life—and what that means when you love someone with every bit of your being is next level.”

She added, “When we finished it, we both knew we wanted to release it, to share it with everyone.”
