“It Actually Broke My Heart”: Vocal Issues Force Country Star To Cancel Additional Shows

Although scheduling several performances throughout the summer, country singer Nate Smith ended up canceling those shows after struggling with his voice. While not wanting to let his fans down, the singer admitted that it was the best decision to allow his voice to rest and heal. With fans supporting the singer through his recovery, it seemed that Smith needed a little more time away from the stage as he recently announced the cancellation of more shows.

On Monday, Smith posted an update about his recovery. And for fans who purchased tickets to his upcoming concerts, they learned he had to yet again cancel. “As you know, I’ve been laying low over the past month on strict vocal rest. I truly thought I could hit the ground running, but after the first show back in Rushville Illinois (y’all were amazing by the way), the reality is, I’m not 100% yet and need more time to stay on the road to recovery.”

Nate Smith Still Scheduled To Perform Alongside Jason Aldean

Already not being able to perform during Summerfest, Nate Smith apologized to fans and promised he would return in the near future. “I am so sorry that I couldn’t perform at Summerfest (it actually broke my heart) and sad to say that I will need to cancel my next four shows (Canada fam I love you and will I’ll be back soon).”

As for the concerts Smith canceled, they included: 

Québec, QC 0 July 8th

Craven, SK – July 10th

West Salem, WI – July 12th

Rhinelander, WI – July 13th 

While not the news fans wanted to hear, they still rallied around the singer, offering him well wishes. “Just take care of your health. That’s the most important thing. Sending prayers.” Another fan added, “Take all the time you need to heal and recover. We love you and will be here when you get back!!”

Gaining thousands of likes, Smith hoped not to cancel more performances. Looking at his schedule, Smith prepared for his upcoming show with Jason Aldean, which is scheduled for July 17th in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
