For some stars, the price of fame can have a negative effect on their lives. The surge of fame or the influx of fortune can drastically alter a singer’s personality and even creativity. But for Jelly Roll, fame did nothing but shine a light on the kindness and love the country singer continues to spread with each new day. Although once struggling with bad decisions, Jelly Roll completely transformed his life and focused on using his stardom to help others. Recently, the star stopped by his alma mater Antioch High School after a student shot two fellow classmates before turning the gun on himself.

According to MNPD spokesperson Don Aaron, the incident took place when a 17-year-old student decided to open fire in the cafeteria. The male student ended up hitting two students, with one female passing away from her injuries. The shooter, Solomon Henderson, eventually turned the weapon on himself before police were able to take him into custody. As for the other wounded student, first responders transported him to a nearby medical center after a bullet graced his arm.
With the school dealing with the aftermath of the shooting, Jelly Roll jumped at the chance to visit his former school to spread some love and smiles. Metro Nashville Public School shared a post of the country singer with the students. They even thanked Jelly Roll for his continued support. “Thank you, Jelly Roll, for reaching out to the Antioch community and offering some comfort during a difficult time. We appreciate your support!”
Not The First Time Jelly Roll Visited His Former School
Always gaining praise from his wife, Bunnie XO, she once discussed her husband returning to the school after being told he would “never be allowed back” when a teenager. Not only getting the chance to walk down memory lane, Jelly Roll performed for the students at the time as Bunnie XO declared, “Last week I got to watch him walk the halls again, perform & be welcomed by the kids & teachers. The love and giving back that they showed my husband was the sweetest thing ever to watch.”
Looking past his work with the community, Jelly Roll released his latest album, Beautifully Broken, just last year. Given the success of the album, he also hit the road with his Beautifully Broken tour that had him traveling all over the world.
