Starting his career in music at just 14 years old, Karl Cochran spent decades collaborating with stars like Eric Singer, Bob Daisley, Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Lynn Turner and even Ace Frehley. Although known for his antics with a guitar, Cochran was also an accomplished songwriter, who helped Frehley write the song “Into the Void”, which ended up on the Kiss album Psycho Circus. Having been part of the music industry for years, Turner recently announced that Cochran sadly passed away.

With Cochran contributing to many careers in music, Turner posted a picture of the musician on Facebook. He also wrote about the impact Cochran had on his life. “The passing of Karl Cochran is an unbelievable loss not only to me but to the music world in general. Karl was an extremely talented guitar player and writer. He collaborated with some of the biggest names in Rock.”
Working with Cochran over the years, Turner revealed the greatness that surrounded the guitarist. “Karl’s passing is our misfortune because he brought technical skill mixed with soulful artistic delivery through his music. Everyone who knew him personally and to anyone who heard his passionate performances, live or on record, can easily recognize greatness and expertise in his playing. Although a lot of time has passed and changes in life have occurred between our collaborative efforts I remain steadfast in my love and admiration.”
Karl Cochran Still Worked Even After Suffering Stroke
While Turner expressed his love for Cochran, he admitted that a piece of him will always be missing, considering him a brother. “I have lost a brother, friend and partner. Now there will always be a missing part of my heart. I shall always remember and celebrate with love for the time I was fortunate enough to share with his incredible character and boundless spirit.”
Sadly, Cochran suffered a few health issues after having a stroke in 2014. Although focused on his recovery, the musician remained a fixture in the music industry as a producer and engineer. Turner, who witnessed the musician’s drive, insisted, “Karl was a fighter and never gave up. He was an example of perseverance, positivity and determination for us all.”
