While introducing her Kellyoke performance of the night, Clarkson revealed she’s be taking on Radiohead’s 1992 song “Creep.”

“This is one of my favorite songs to cover,” she told the crowd. “Look, nothing’s better than the original—I’m going to own that right now—but I’m going to do my best to just have fun with it.”

With that, the musicians started playing the song’s intro and one person did it so well that it stopped Clarkson in her tracks.

“Oh my God,” Clarkson said. “I missed this part in rehearsal. That was so beautiful. I can’t even.”

Clarkson then proceeded to single out cellist Ismael Ariel Guerrero Bombut, telling him, “Ismael, oh my gosh! What the f**k? We did this at soundcheck and you did not do that!”

Kelly Clarkson Pauses Show to Watch Cellist’s Solo

As Clarkson tried to wrap her head around what she’d just seen, she asked her cellist to play his part again, stating, “I wasn’t ready! Oh my God. Do it again! Start over! I just want to watch.”

As he obliged, Clarkson watched on in awe. She declared that it was “beautiful,” before she finally began singing her cover of the song.

Clarkson posted a clip of the exchanged on Instagram, which she captioned, “I love to perform this song so much!! Also, @ismacello, that was so incredibly beautiful!”

The cellist reacted to his big moment on Instagram, writing, “Kelly Clarkson stopped the show just to hear my solo again… I am still processing.”

“Can’t believe this moment was captured on camera,” he captioned the clip. “My heart is so full, and I am forever grateful for the opportunity.”

The triumphant moment came after a shaky start for Clarkson’s Vegas residency, as she was forced to postpone the first run of shows due to vocal issues. Since then, though, things have gone off without a hitch, with Clarkson making headlines for her Dolly Parton cover and a duet with her daughter.
