Last night’s ACM Awards was one for the books, featuring an emotional tribute to Alan Jackson, incredible performances from Jelly Roll and Shaboozey, and another dominating night by Lainey Wilson. Watching the spectacle from her home, Lauren Alaina was understandably “feeling some type of way.” The American Idol runner-up got vulnerable on social media, opening up about FOMO.

In January, Alaina announced that she and husband Cam Arnold are expecting their first child. Currently 37 weeks pregnant with a baby girl, the “Road Less Traveled” singer, 30, admitted she was feeling “sad” and “left out” watching all the triumphant speeches and performances at this year’s ACM Awards.
“I’m feeling so many feelings, because I have this little girl in here,” Alaina said. “And I want her to dream big, and I want her to believe in herself and go for whatever she wants to do.”
However, she stressed those feelings had “nothing to do” with her unborn daughter. Rather, they stemmed from feeling stuck in a career “transition” over the last couple of years.
“I just feel, like, kind of left behind,” admitted the Grand Ole Opry’s youngest member. “Like, I’ve got to create all this content and do all these things and try to have these moments online. And it’s not just about writing music and putting songs out anymore. You have to do all these other things.”
“It’s Not a Competition”
Reiterating that she was thrilled for her friends in the music industry, Lauren Alaina also held space for her own conflicting emotions.

“I just want to say, if there’s someone out there who has a big dream and you feel like people are getting in front of you and ahead of you—it’s not a competition, but if you feel like you want to be somewhere and you’re not there, I see you and I feel you,” she said.
“Superwoman”: Country Stars Respond to Vulnerable Lauren Alaina Post
While Lauren Alaina said she might “regret” speaking so freely on social media, her comments section reflected nothing but support from her peers in the country music industry.
“I love you, Junior,” wrote Trisha Yearwood, who welcomed Alaina into the Grand Ole Opry in 2022.
Added Sara Evans, “Stay the course! Your voice is so amazing and undeniable! This season of life will change and you’ll be right back up there but you’ll be a superwoman bc you’ve had this sweet baby girl!”
