The track is available now as a digital download and via various streaming services. The song also can be heard in the trailer for Smoke, which has debuted at Apple TV’s official YouTube channel. Yorke previously had performed “Dialing In” live under the title “Gawpers.” According to a press statement about the tune, it contains “parallels with the themes of Smoke, having been fine-tuned to underscore the show’s themes even further.”

“Working with Thom Yorke was as much an honor for me as working with Clint Eastwood, Martin Scorsese or Richard Price,” said Smoke creator and executive producer Dennis Lehane in a statement. “I’ve somehow been blessed with collaborating with living legends who were also formative influences on my own creative life. Thom is definitely that. In addition, he took a basic concept I gave him and delivered a song that perfectly embodies the show and absolutely crushes.”

More About Smoke

Smoke is scheduled to premiere on Apple TV+ on July 27. The show stars Jurnee Smollett and Taron Egerton, respectively, as a police detective and an arson investigator who begrudgingly team up to try to catch a pair of serial arsonists.

The series’ cast also includes John Leguizamo, Anna Chlumsky, Greg Kinnear, and Rafe Spall.

Lehane is an acclaimed novelist and screenwriter. His novels Mystic River and Shutter Island were adapted into films directed, respectively, by Eastwood and Scorsese.

His writing credits also include such TV series as The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, The Outsider, and Blackbird.

Other Recent Yorke News

The arrival of “Dialing In” comes just a few weeks after Yorke released a new collaborative album with British electronic musician Mark Pritchard called Tall Tales.

In April, Hamlet Hail to the Thief, an adaption of Shakespeare’s classic play Hamlet featuring music Yorke reworked from Radiohead’s 2003 album Hail to the Thief, debuted at Aviva Studios in Manchester, U.K.

Following a series of Manchester performances that ended on May 18, the production will begin a new run in Stratford-upon-Avon on June 4.
