Currently on tour with Alabama, Morgan’s decision to take a break from the stage came after her husband, Randy White, continued to seek treatment for mouth cancer. Having been married for almost two decades, a press release read, “Morgan’s husband of nearly 15 years, Randy White, has been undergoing treatment for mouth cancer. White has been readmitted to a hospital in Middle Tennessee.”

Sharing a statement about her decision to cancel her upcoming show, her manager Tony Conway didn’t share too many details. Only focusing on her time on stage, he announced, “Grand Ole Opry star, Lorrie Morgan, has canceled all concerts and appearances for the next two weeks per her manager, Tony Conway of Conway Entertainment.”

Lorrie Morgan Mourned The Death Of Her Former Husband

Outside of her marriage to White, Morgan married several times. With her marriages usually ending in divorce, back in the 1980s, she married country singer Keith Whitley. Only married for three years, Morgan found herself a widow after he passed away.

Remembering some of her final moments with Whitley, Morgan explained how he once handed her a greeting card before she left for a promotional trip to Alaska. Recalling that moment, she revealed what it said. “’Would you like to know what I wish for you? If I could have any wish I wanted, this is my wish: That in your life which is so precious to me, may worries, troubles and problems never linger. May they only make you that much stronger and able and wise. May you rise each day with sunlight in your heart, success in your path, answers to your prayers, and that smile that I always love to see in your eyes. I love you, Keith.’”

Already knowing the pain of losing a husband, Morgan decided to exit the stage to help and support her husband through his health struggles.
