In his post, Combs shared photos of himself at a racetrack. In two shots, Combs posed alongside some NASCAR legends, seemingly confirming their involvement in the video.
One pic featured Combs and Dale Earnhardt Jr. laughing as they leaned against a wall. Throughout his driving career, Earnhardt Jr. won the Daytona 500 twice and earned 26 wins in the cup series. He retired after the 2017 season and has since become a team owner and color commentator.
The other photo of note showed Combs on the racetrack alongside Richard Petty. The NASCAR Hall of Famer competed from 1958 to 1992, winning the Daytona 500 seven times and coming out on top in a record 200 races during his career. Currently, he serves as a team ambassador and owns Petty’s Garage, a car restoration and modification shop.
“Music video will be out with the song this Friday,” Combs captioned his post. “Can’t wait for y’all to see it.”
As for what fans can expect from Combs’ forthcoming song, he’s been teasing “Back in the Saddle” on Instagram for weeks.
One video featured Combs recording the song, which appears to be an upbeat, rollicking number about making an epic comeback.
Combs wrote the song with Jonathan Singleton and The Brothers Hunt.
Luke Combs’ Year Ahead
Combs’ most recent LP is Fathers and Sons, which came out in June 2024. “Back in the Saddle” will be Combs’ first new music since then.
The singer has opted to not set out on the road as much since his album’s release, a decision he attributed to his family.
“We’re only doing festivals this year,” Combs told People in April. “We got 20-something shows this year. I’ve already done 10 of them.”
“I want to be home with my kids,” he added of Tex, 3, and Beau, 2, whom he shares with his wife, Nicole. “… I want my kids to know that my job is not more important than they are.”
