Madonna‘s world tour was initially going to begin on July 15, but has been pushed back after the singer was admitted to the ICU. The tour is expected to stop in various cities in North America and Europe including New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, Paris, and Stockholm. After a London show on December 6, the tour is scheduled to return to North America until January 20.

In his Instagram post, Oseary stated, “On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.

“At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour,” the post continues. “We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”

The tour was set to kick off on July 15 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, before heading to Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena on July 18 and Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona on July 22. “Celebration” was scheduled for a few more concerts in July, which included a show at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado on July 25, another at BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma on July 27, and a third at Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Madonna was set to travel to other various cities in North America from August 2 until October 7, before heading to Europe.

Madonna’s “Celebration” tour is said to “be highlighting her unmatched catalog of music from the past 40-plus years,” and will “pay respect to the city of New York, where her career in music began.” In a video announcing the tour, Madonna said “I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for.”

Earlier this year, Madonna expressed her excitement for her upcoming endeavors during a Vanity Fair photoshoot, saying, “I’m about to create another show, and I’ve been working for several years on the screenplay about my life. This is a good time for me — I’m gathering ideas, getting inspired, hanging out with creative people, watching films, seeing art, listening to music.” Updates on Madonna’s current health situation are expected.
