2024 marked a big year for Maren Morris. The singer didn’t release a new album that year but she found the courage to announce she was bisexual. Sharing the personal news with fans, the country singer found no better time to discuss the last year than during Pride Month. Running throughout June, the entire month offered a celebration surrounding the LGBTQ+ community. With numerous cities holding parades, the month also honored those who fought and even died for their rights. Holding the month close, Morris took a moment to thank her fans for their support.

Taking the stage at West Hollywood’s Outloud Festival a few days ago, Morris opened up about what her life looked like since that moment in 2024. “I didn’t want to make a big press release or anything, I just wanted to say it and be normal. That’s all any of us want. But what I did not expect, which was so kind, was the open arms and the warmth and support from y’all.”

Maren Morris Ready To “Laugh And Move On”
Besides highlighting her fans during the concert, Morris consistently praised their support over the last year. Just last month, She told GLAAD, “I wanted to be able to connect with my fans and my queer community…Especially in a time where you’re in this free-for-all post-divorce reckoning, community has been so necessary for me and life-saving. Being honest and being vulnerable is the only way that you find community.”
Struggling to find the strength to share her sexuality with the world, Morris concluded, “I’ve always known that I am attracted to men and women…I think because I’ve been in straight relationships the last 15 years of my life, which has been consumed by my music career and living in Nashville, I never felt brave enough to talk about it.”
As for Morris and her recent divorce from Ryan Hurd, the singer didn’t view the moment as a failure but as teaching moment. Excited for the future, she said, “I think you have to be able to laugh at the sad tragedies of life — to know that everything ends and it’s out of your control. You can be upset about it and let it plague you forever and feel jaded. Or you can laugh and move on and take the lesson: better luck next time.”
