Megan Moroney Shouts Out Brad Paisley, Who Congratulates Her on New “Bundle of Joy”

Megan Moroney is having the opposite of an emo cowgirl summer. The Country Music Association’s reigning New Artist of the Year is currently working on her third studio album, which she says will have a more “light and carefree and happy” tone than her previous material. Indeed, staggering success in your chosen field may very well cloud your ability to churn out tearjerkers. Recently, Moroney showed off her latest milestone—a brand-new car. The “Am I Okay?” singer shouted out country star Brad Paisley, who had an equally hilarious response.

Taking to her Instagram Stories Wednesday (June 18), Moroney, 27, shared a photo of the vehicle’s dash. In the picture, a song title is visible: Brad Paisley’s chart-topping 2004 hit “Mud on the Tires.”

“christened the new baby with a little BP,” wrote the “Tennessee Orange” hitmaker.

Apparently, the 14-time CMA Award winner caught wind of Moroney’s post, which he shared to his own Instagram Stories. “Aw @megmoroney. A 1500 lb bundle of joy,” wrote Paisley, 52. “Sending you a baby gift.”

A delighted Moroney posted the “Ticks” singer’s response to her Stories, adding four cry-laughing emojis.

Megan Moroney, Brad Paisley Previously Exchanged Pleasantries on Social Media

Wednesday’s exchange wasn’t the first time social media users were privy to banter between Megan Moroney and Brad Paisley. Earlier this year, Moroney wrote on X/Twitter, “wherever brad paisley is today i hope he’s having a good day.”

This post, too, made its way to the West Virginia-born artist. “to answer your question…Sitting in the waiting room at the dentist office for my kids appointment and this made my day,” Paisley replied.

Fans were thrilled to see two country music A-listers interacting with one another. “holy crap,” one X/Twitter user wrote. “can someone check megan’s pulse and make sure she is okay????”

Opening for Kenny Chesney on last year’s Sun Goes Down Tour, Moroney already checked off one bucket list item when the pair debuted their song “You Had to Be There” last month. Is this a sign of another collab to come?
