On his recently released fourth studio album, Morgan Wallen just comes out and says it: I’m The Problem. The CMA’s reigning Entertainer of the Year has battled his fair share of speed bumps during his wildly successful career. The most-publicized obstacle came last April when the “Sand In My Boots” crooner, 32, faced felony charges following an incident at Eric Church’s downtown Nashville bar. With that lengthy legal saga wrapped up, Wallen is fully prepared to face the music.

Speaking to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, the “Lies Lies Lies” hitmaker shed some light on the inspiration behind his latest album title. “Well, I think there was a little bit of, you know, playing into just everything I’ve been through in my life…not like I’m the victim or anything, I’ve caused a lot of it,” he said. “I think that’s my way…of accepting that responsibility and saying, ‘Hey, maybe I am the problem sometimes’.
According to Wallen, this record may very well be his final opportunity to fully lean into his self-destructive, whiskey-fueled public persona. “I don’t know that for a fact, I just live day by day, but that just seems to be where I’m at as a man…maybe just one last time of being that guy,” he said.

Morgan Wallen Says He’s a Changed Man
Last April, Morgan Wallen made headlines after allegedly tossing a chair from the sixth-story roof of Eric Church’s downtown Nashville bar, Chief’s. Police arrested the country music superstar, charging him with felony counts of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
In December, Wallen pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor reckless endangerment charges. After spending seven days in a DUI education center, the East Tennessee native will serve two years of supervised probation.
Earlier this year, Wallen revealed during an interview with comedian Theo Von that he hasn’t set foot in a bar since his arrest. Speaking with Lowe, he said, “I mean, I’m not gonna sit here and act like I’ve got it all figured out, you know, because I definitely don’t. But I think I’ve identified things and people…those two things combined, I think I’ve identified problems that I don’t really want to partake in anymore, and…I’m able to see a lot more clearly now.”
