Rascal Flatts Enlist Blake Shelton, Backstreet Boys, More for Retrospective Album ‘Life Is a Highway: Refueled Duets’

This year, Rascal Flatts will celebrate 25 years of releasing hit country songs. Their 2000 debut single “Prayin’ for Daylight” netted them a No. 5 single and kicked off a long string of hits. “Bless the Broken Road,” “Mayberry,” “Feels Like Today,” among others made them staples of country radio. Now, they’re revisiting some of their most popular songs with help from some of the biggest names in country music and beyond.

Life Is a Highway: Refueled Duets will hit shelves and streaming services on June 6 via Big Machine Records. The collection will feature retooled versions of nine of the group’s biggest hits as well as their latest single “I Dare You,” a collaboration with the Jonas Brothers. Jason Aldean, the Backstreet Boys, Carly Pearce, Blake Shelton, and more will also appear on the new album.

Gary LeVox spoke about Life Is a Highway: Refueled Duets in a press release. “It was such an honor to create this project with such incredibly talented artists,” he shared. “It’s a pretty indescribably feeling having your colleagues and friends do your songs in such unique ways and knock your socks off with the results,” he added. “This album is just another attempt for us to thank our fans for the blessings they’ve given us on this crazy journey the past 25 years, thanks for riding along with us.”

Rascal Flatts Enlists Country and Pop Stars for New Album

Rascal Flatts have released several crossover hits over the years. Many of their country hits also performed well on the Billboard Hot 100. “What Hurts the Most” and “Life Is a Highway” were top 10 hits on the all-genre chart. So, it makes sense for them to bring pop hitmakers as well as country stars along for their latest ride. See the full tracklist below.
