While writing songs for Clay Walker, Blake Shelton, and Tracy Byrd, Rory Feek eventually decided to explore a career as a singer. But his career took a drastic turn when he met his future wife, Joey Feek. Teaming up together, the two created the duo Joey + Rory. Although the duo finished third on the CMT show Can You Duet, the couple went on to release eight studio albums. Their last, Hymns That Are Important to Us, hit shelves in February 2016. Sadly, Joey passed away a month later. While mourning the loss of his wife, Rory recently shared a throwback video of the couple’s daughter, Indiana, performing “He Touched Me.”

With nearly a decade passing since Joey passed away, Rory and Indiana seemed to always keep her memory close. On Tuesday, the singer posted a video of his daughter in the car, singing her mother’s song. He wrote, “Our 11-year-old daughter Indiana loves to sing, and though she has done a couple of real recordings with her Papa through the years, her first big performance was in the backseat of the truck singing, along with her mama, when she thought nobody was paying attention…”
Rory Feek Found Love Once Again After Joey Feek’s Passing
Although watching Indiana sing the song was an unforgettable moment for Rory, it carried a great deal of meaning as it allowed his daughter to connect with her late mother. Looking at the comments, fans wrote, “Ohhh my goodness. This is amazing.” Another comment included, “Love this video…..it was one of those God winks….. a special keepsake from Him. Indiana is a gift…..and truly Joey’s legacy.”
Constantly sharing their lives with fans, Rory and Joey didn’t shy away from their struggles when she was diagnosed with cancer. Using her diagnosis to encourage people to take their health seriously, Joey eventually lost her battle, passing away at 40 years old.
At the time of her passing, Indiana was only 2 years old. As for Rory, he always kept his wife’s memory close to his heart. And in 2024, he fell in love once again, this time, with his daughter’s schoolteacher, Rebecca. The two would marry in 2024.
With the years passing by and Indiana now 11, Rory never forgot the moment she got the chance to sing with her mom.
