A note posted Friday (July 25) to the event’s website reads, “Due to circumstances beyond our control, Soundside Music Festival has been cancelled. Tickets will be refunded to the original method of payment in as little as 30 days depending on your bank’s processing time.”
The notice includes a link to frequently asked questions, such as how to obtain your refund through various sellers. Additionally, the event’s social media pages have also been deleted, suggesting the cancellation may be permanent.

In addition to the headliners, the Soundside Music Festival’s 2025 lineup also included Weezer, Djo, Japanese Breakfast, the Last Dinner Party, Alex Warren, and Remi Wolf.
Why Did Organizers Cancel the Soundside Music Festival?
In its second year, Soundside Music Festival was set to take place Sept. 27 and Sept. 28 at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Thomas Gaudett, chief administrative officer for Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim, suggested that low ticket sales may have played a role in the event’s cancellation.
“It’s our understanding that this year’s lineup was drawing a lot fewer attendees than we have seen in the last few years,” Gaudett told CT Insider. “And that may have had an impact on the decision to cancel.”
Soundside launched in 2024 as a rebranding of the Sound On Sound festival, founded in 2020. Last year’s inaugural event featured performances from The War and Treaty, Goo Goo Dolls, Norah Jones, Teddy Swims, and more.
However, last year’s event did not go off without a hitch, either. The Foo Fighters dropped out of the festival just two days ahead of their headlining set. Fortunately, Jack White and Greta Van Fleet stepped in to replace Dave Grohl and Co.
John Hosier, head of Bridgeport’s parks board, called the news “shocking.”
“Soundside put us on the map for a minute,” he told CT Insider. “Hopefully they can get it back together somehow, some way. It’s a shame that it happened.”
