Taylor Swift Fans Shower “Eras Tour” Guest Star With Support After ‘American Idol’ Rejection

Years after starring in two of Taylor Swift’s music videos, Presley Cash decided to try her luck on American Idol. Unfortunately, judges shot down the “Eras Tour” superstar’s audition. But while the 27-year-old may not have punched her golden ticket to Hollywood, she still carries substantial clout with the Swifties, who are rallying around Cash in the wake of her failed American Idol bid.

Taylor Swift Music Video Star Auditions For ‘American Idol’

If you missed Presley Cash’s audition during the March 23 episode of American Idol, you’re not alone. The ABC singing reality competition show did not air Cash’s performance, showing just a brief clip of the Missouri native handing out skeleton gloves to the judges’ panel.

Taking to TikTok, Cash shared photos of her fleeting Idol experience. The first shows her decked out in skeleton gear and dark makeup. “American Idol told me I can’t sing…” it began.

Next, the video switched to a close-up of a gold Tortured Poets Department bracelet and a bedazzled “Mean” friendship bracelet. (For context, Cash was just 13 years old when she starred alongside The Act star Joey King in the music video for Swift’s 2011 single. Ten years later, she and King joined Twilight actor Taylor Lautner in the music video for “I Can See You,” a vault track from Speak Now (Taylor’s Version.)

“But Taylor gave me this Tortured Poets Department Bracelet,” Cash continued. “And after my little trip to Nashville… I am more tortured and poetic than EVER.”

She concluded, “Lionel, Luke and especially Carrie I hope you enjoy the Skeleton gloves!!!!!! 🙃🙃🙃.”

“None of Them Can Say They’ve Been on the Eras Tour Stage”

Whether for good or for ill, the Swifties are a force. And after Presley Cash shared her American Idol rejection, Taylor Swift fans flocked to the comments section with warm words of support and encouragement.

“if i was in two taylor swift music videos i wouldn’t [give a f—] who tells me what anymore,” one TikTok user commented.

Another added, “none of them can say they have been on the eras tour stage so there’s that.”

Cash (born Megan Haun,) along with King and Lautner, made a surprise appearance onstage during Swift’s July 2023 Eras Tour stop at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium.
