“The Only Place I Belong Is at Home”: Texas Country Singer Won’t Tour Out of State “For the Foreseeable Future”

Sharing a photo of herself holding her young daughter, Ava, Hasty began, As I sat watching fireworks on the 4th of July, surrounded by family, holding my small child in my arms, it had never been more clear to me that the only place I belong is at home.”

Pointing out that her daughter has already traveled to 18 states in her short life, the 28-year-old “Pretty Things” singer also lamented all the weddings, birthdays, and simple nights in the backyard that her day job has caused her to miss.

“I want to restructure my life around working in the studio, writing songs, and maybe even doing something in the fashion-sphere,” she wrote. “I plan to still be at all the beloved festivals that we play every year and hanging around our Texas venues but this will be my last out of state tour for the foreseeable future.”

She then shouted out the members of her band, emphasizing that other artists would ” be LUCKY to put them to work!”

Catching fire on TikTok in 2020 with her song “Pretty Things,” the single West Texas mom released her two-part EP, Drowning in Dreams, in 2021. With some hailing her “the female version of Zach Bryan,” Hasty also released a three-song EP named for her hometown of Midland in 2023. According to her website, her tour runs through Sept. 20, 2025, wrapping up in Talequah, Oklahoma.

She Previously Spoke on the Struggles of Motherhood

Kat Hasty has built a career off emotional honesty, and that extends beyond her music into her personal life. In a 2022 social media post, she got candid about dealing with “severe depression” during her pregnancy.

“When I found out I was pregnant, I felt like my life was over. Being a mother didn’t come natural to me, and that’s something I’m not ashamed to admit anymore,” she wrote. “Letting go of selfish habits and prioritizing another life over your own is hard. Feeling like you’ve lost your identity to motherhood is hard. But I am here to tell you, it is the most rewarding experience that this world has to offer. My dreams have changed. My dreams are bigger and better than I ever could’ve imagined at 22 years old.”
