Tim McGraw has one of the most successful careers in modern country music. However, he isn’t just an all-star singer and songwriter. He’s also a star of the large and small screens. His roles in Friday Night Lights, The Blind Side, and 1883 are legendary. However, his filmography is much deeper than that. He’s been in several movies, including one that he’s almost certain no one has ever seen.

Tim McGraw on Starting His Acting Career
Tracy Lawrence asked Tim McGraw about making his transition to acting and his first movie. “Black Cloud. It was a small independent film,” McGraw recalled. “I wasn’t looking do to movies. In fact, I kind of got cornered into the first one I did,” he added.
“I played Arizona, and Rick Schroder, one of the nicest guys in the world, came to my show. He came to my dressing room and started talking to me, and he says, ‘I’m doing my very first direction on this movie called Black Cloud, and I’d really like you to play the sheriff in it,’” McGraw explained. “I was like, I might do a movie down the road, but the worst thing you can do is go suck at something and run your career. I didn’t really want to do the movie, I wasn’t ready for it yet, but he was so nice I couldn’t say no to him,” he added.
“That was the first movie I ever did. It was a small movie that nobody ever saw. Then, the second one was Friday Night Lights,” McGraw said. He initially didn’t want to do Friday Night Lights. However, after reading the script, he realized he was perfect for the part. The rest, as they say, is history.
