There’s nothing wrong with a little cheerful self-awareness. Yesterday, the official Guns N’ Roses Instagram page posted a video compilation of the many times their famed frontman, Axl Rose, has taken a tumble on stage. Hilariously, the video was captioned “Guns N’ Roses Greatest Hits!”

The video features one full minute of incidents in which Rose has fallen while performing, totalling 14 times. It’s a self-deprecating post, but sometimes, you just gotta laugh at yourself. It is a surprising upload, though, considering how resistant the “Welcome To The Jungle” singer has been to media attention.
The video clips were likely posted to humorously promote the band’s ongoing international tour. Considering Rose is 63 years old now, it’s impressive that he’s only fallen a little over a dozen times while performing. The man’s still got it. You can watch the painfully funny compilation video below.
What’s With Rock Stars Always Falling on Stage?
The many instances of Axl Rose falling while performing are far from rare occurrences. In fact, it seems like rock stars love to take tumbles on stage.
Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters famously fell off the stage back in 2015 during Gothenburg. The fall resulted in a broken leg. However, the show must go on, it seems. After being treated quickly, Grohl sat on stage and finished his set with a rendition of “Under Pressure”.
Likewise, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith once fell during a dance move attempt at a South Dakota concert in 2009. Tyler tripped and fell backwards off the stage, and he had to be flown to a nearby hospital. He suffered head and neck injuries, but was thankfully able to record.
Also in 2009, Brian May of Queen famously tripped over Roger Taylor’s drum kit during a rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody” in Birmingham. The famed guitarist crashed into the kit, but continued with his killer guitar solo despite the mishap.
Eddie Vedder is another repeat offender who could rival all the times that Axl Rose has fallen on stage. The Pearl Jam frontman tends to be clumsy. In fact, a fan put together a compilation of Vedder falling during performances through the years. I’d chalk this up to his wild on-stage energy. What else would you expect from one of the last great remaining grunge bands?
