Zach Top burst onto the country music scene last April with his debut album Cold Beer & Country Music. His throwback sound caught the ears of listeners who were craving throwback sounds and well-written songs. Since then, he has embarked on a headlining tour, worked with some of the biggest names in the genre, and even released an EP with Billy Strings. Recently, Top has been teasing new music on the road.

Recently, Top performed a VIP acoustic set at the Lyric in Oxford, Mississippi. During the set, he gave fans a peek at his forthcoming album with the new song “Good Times & Tan Lines.” Fortunately for the rest of us, a fan in the crowd captured the song on video and shared it on social media. The track showcases the “Sounds Like the Radio” singer’s impressive guitar chops and has a vibe that could be compared to “Chattahoochee.” Watch him play what might be the song of the summer below.

This isn’t the first new song Top has shared since releasing his debut album last year. In August, he shared “Beer for Breakfast,” which may have been the first pre-release track from the forthcoming full-length.
Zach Top Confirms a New Album Is on the Way
Earlier this year, Zach Top performed at the Houston Rodeo. While he was there, he took some time to do a Q&A session with Spotify that revealed some great news. He revealed that he plans to share his sophomore record this summer.
“I just went in and tracked a few more songs to round out the second record,” he said. “So we got that finished up and are getting it mixed right now. It’ll come out at some point in the summer. I’m not exactly sure when yet, but there will be a new record coming this summer,” he revealed.
“Good Times & Tan Lines” and “Beer for Breakfast” are both fun songs that would be the perfect addition to any summer soundtrack. If those songs and the rest of Top’s catalog are any indication, he’ll be cranking up the heat in the country music world in the coming months.
