Where Are They Now? Every ‘American Idol’ Finalist from Carrie Underwood’s Season

Since winning season 4 of American Idol in 2005, Carrie Underwood has become a global superstar. She’s released nine albums, toured the world, and headlined a years-long Las Vegas residency.

Underwood has been widely lauded for her work, winning eight GRAMMY Awards, 16 Academy of Country Music Awards, and five CMT Artists of the Year awards. The singer, who has sold 85 million records worldwide, was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008.

Now, she’s returning to the show that made her a star. She’s set to judge Idol alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

While Underwood’s accomplishments are well known, the same can’t be said for the people she competed alongside on Idol. Keep reading to see what the top-five finishers of American Idol‘s fourth season have been up to the last 20 years.

Scott Savol

After finishing American Idol in fifth place, Scott Savol released his debut EP, Human. Then, In Spite of It All came out in 2011. Between 2013 and 2016, Savol became the lead male singer of The Avenue Band with Cleveland Music Group.

He dabbled in music production and engineering in the years that followed. Savol released a single, “Be About It,” in 2019 and his most recent track, “Round Midnight,” two years later.

Anthony Fedorov

The fourth-place finisher on American Idol, Anthony Fedorov, went on to compete on Fear Factor, on which he came in third. He soon turned his focus to theater, performing in off-Broadway productions as well as in shows in Nashville, Seattle, Japan, and more. In 2013, Fedorov replaced Keith Semple as the new lead singer of 7th Heaven.

Additionally, he wrote the music and lyrics for the musical comedy show Proud Mary. Fedorov also founded Season 4 Performing Arts, which offers vocal and audition coaching, songwriting, studio recording, and mentorship.

Vonzell Solomon

Better known as Baby V, Vonzell Solomon has continued working in music since finishing in third place on American Idol. Her pre-Idol EP, My Struggle, was re-released in 2007. She followed that up in 2012 with the release of her sophomore EP, True Story.

Additionally, Solomon has performed Broadway productions, and with renowned acts such as Post Modern Jukebox and David Foster. She has also written and recorded original music for television shows and films.

Solomon, who also works as a real estate agent, released her most recent single, “Carry You,” last year.

Bo Bice

Bo Bice, a southern rock singer, came in second place on season four of American Idol. “Inside Your Heaven” was his first post-Idol single, and it went on to be certified gold. He went on to release four albums: The Real Thing (2005), See the Light (2007), 3 (2010), and New Soul Revival (2013).

In the years since, he recorded duets with Carlos Santana and Joe Diffie, sang the title track for Blades of Glory, and performed with stars including Hank Williams Jr, Willie Nelson, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

From 2013 to 2018, Bice fronted the rock/jazz/horn group, Blood Sweat & Tears. Today, Bice tours as a solo artist while developing his acting and art career.
