Fans hoping to see more epic performances on The Voice this week are going to be disappointed. Following the conclusion of the Knockout Round, NBC announced that the highly-anticipated Playoffs won’t begin until April 28.

For viewers, that means they won’t get the chance to see the Top 20 contestants perform again until next week’s episode. Instead, on the April 21 episode of the show, viewers will tune in to see “The Road to Playoffs.”
The episode will track the journeys of the competing artists from the Blind Auditions until now, and tease what’s to come.
What’s to Come on The Voice
Next week, the competition will really ramp up. Coaches Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé, John Legend, and Adam Levine each have five people on their teams.
On Team Adam, there’s Kolby Cordell (who he stole from Legend), Ethan Eckenroad, Lucia Flores-Wiseman, Conor James, and Britton Moore. Team Bublé has Jadyn Cree, Adam David, Barry Jean Fontenot, Kaiya Hamilton, and Angie Rey (who he stole from Ballerini).
Team Legend consists of BD.ii, Bryson Battle, Ari Camille (who he stole from Levine), Olivia Kuper Harris, and Renzo. Finally, Kelsea rounded out her team with Iris Herrera, Darius J. (who she stole from Levine), Jaelen Johnston, Alanna Lynise, and Tinika Wyatt.
The Voice‘s Mega Mentors
Ahead of the Live Shows, the coaches will be forced to cut that number down to two, eliminating three people on their teams. As such, the stakes couldn’t be higher for the contestants. To help them on their journey, the show is bringing in two superstars—Sheryl Crow and LeeAnn Rimes.
The country singers will serve as the season’s Mega Mentors. They will help the artists hone their skills ahead of the biggest performance of their lives.
“I loved mentoring,” Crow told People of the gig. “It was a blast, and I absolutely adore Kelsea.”
Season 27 wasn’t the first time Crow had the opportunity to join The Voice. In fact, she told the outlet that she was offered the chance to serve as a coach on the very first season of the show.
“[My son Levi] was about 2 years old and I didn’t want to move back to L.A. and so I didn’t do it,” Crow said. “And I have not really entertained it since then because we have a busy life here [in Nashville] and normalcy is really lovely.”
Instead, Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, and CeeLo Green wound up as the coaches for the show’s debut season.
