Before Riley Green was breaking the Internet with saucy Ella Langley collabs, he went viral with the poignant 2019 hit “I Wish Grandpas Never Died.” Hitting a chord with country music fans everywhere, the song launched Green into the genre’s top tier. Although the 36-year-old Alabama native has since amassed a trove of hits including “You Look Like You Love Me” and “Worst Way,” “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” still ranks high among fan favorites. Recently, Green ceded the spotlight to a little boy who is now going viral for his own adorable take on the sentimental hit.

Riley Green Creates Core Memory For Young Fan
Logan is a little boy whose love for country music is well documented. He shares videos of himself singing along to Morgan Wallen, Riley Green, and HARDY to his TikTok page, @lifewithlogannn.
During Green’s Thursday (May 1) show in Athens, Georgia, Logan got to not only meet his hero, but share a stage with him. The “Worst Way” crooner sat on the stage beside the little boy, who was sporting a cowboy hat and a Damn Country Music shirt.
“Now what Logan told me earlier was he wanted y’all to turn the lights off in the room,” Green said. “And then y’all get your little flashlight phone things out, and y’all gonna sing it. Logan’s going to start, okay?”
Next, the fearless young man led the sold-out crowd at the Akins Ford Arena in a singalong session of Green’s signature song: And I wish honky-tonks didn’t have no closing time / And I wish grandpas never died.
Later, Green posted footage of the moment to his own social media. “My buddy Logan stole the show in Athens last night,” wrote the CMA Award winner.
“Precious”: Fans React To Logan’s Moment in the Spotlight
For many social media users, seeing Logan join Riley Green onstage perfectly encapsulated what country music is all about. “We love America our families and our future of children!” one TikTok user commented.
“Ok well I’m cooked for the day,” added another. “How precious.”
Tonight (Friday, May 2), Green takes a break from his headlining Damn Country Music Tour to play the Country Thunder Florida festival in Tampa. He will resume the tour on May 9 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
