Megan Moroney Reveals What Touring with Kenny Chesney Taught Her

To kick off the topic of touring with the leader of the No Shoes Nation, Neal asked, “What did you maybe learn about Kenny Chesney that you didn’t know beforehand?”

“Let’s see here. There’s so much because we’ve become such good friends,” Megan Moroney said. “I would say from an artist’s point of view, he works his ass off still,” she added. “He’s always working on things. So, I think his drive and work ethic is something I really admire about him. There’s so much, though.”

Then, Moroney revealed some of the things she learned from watching Chesney that she’ll apply to her career. “The way he treats his fans and the way he’s made No Shoes Nation is something I’ve taken notes about,” she revealed. “His live show is like a celebration of No Shoes Nation and that’s how I want my shows to feel,” Moroney added.

“One thing that I saw that’s kind of crazy to me is that he’s in a stadium and he could have crazy production but he doesn’t. His songs are that good and he’s that good of a performer. So, it was kind of a reminder to focus on the songwriting and make sure the songs are good. He can get up there and entertain people for two hours and still not play all of his hits,” Moroney explained.

Moroney will embark on a headlining tour in 2025. Fans will see if she puts those lessons to work for her on the road.
