For most of the 2010s, Tyler Hubbard ruled the country music airwaves as one half of Florida Georgia Line. After he and Brian Kelley went their separate ways, the Georgia-born artist, 37, found solo success with his chart-topping 2022 single “5 Foot 9.” Hubbard recently wrapped a solo headlining tour in support of his second solo album, Strong. A prolific songwriter, the country-rocker has also penned hits for other artists, such as HARDY and Jason Aldean. Tyler Hubbard Co-Wrote This Song With HARDY, Zach Abend, and Jax

In November 2024, Tyler Hubbard wrapped up his Strong World Tour with a sold-out show at Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium. The former Florida Georgia Line member celebrated 1.7 billion global streams with a mix of his solo hits and other songwriting accomplishments.

A highlight came when Hubbard delivered a rollicking rendition of “Psycho,” which he wrote with HARDY, Jax and Zach Abend. HARDY released the tune as the third single from his third studio album, 2024’s Quit! Equal parts country, rock and grunge, “Psycho” sees Hardy warning his new love not to leave him. Otherwise: I’ll get a face tattoo / Steal a truck, end up on the six o’clock news / If you say goodbye, hell, I’ll dye my hair / Crash your birthday party in my underwear.

Hubbard’s version is twangier, but equally engaging. “What a full circle moment. This is dope to see,” one TikTok user wrote.

“Psycho” peaked at No. 7 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart. It also reached the top 30 among Hot Rock & Alternative Songs.

Will Florida Georgia Line Ever Reunite?

With hits like “Cruise” and “This Is How We Roll,” Florida Georgia Line enjoyed much commercial success through their 12-year run. Then the duo announced an indefinite recording and touring hiatus in February 2022.

In a recent interview with Hoda Kotb, Tyler Hubbard says that God simply “had a different plan” for himself and bandmate Brian Kelley. He says it was 2020 when he first realized, “OK, FGL, the season of being in a band and a duo is coming to an end.”

Hubbard admitted to harboring some doubts about launching his solo career. “But once I dove off into it, I’m like, man, this is actually what made me fall in love with this the first time and it’s doing it again,” he said.
