John Fogerty, Smokey Robinson, Emmylou Harris, & Others to Be Saluted at Bruce Springsteen Archives’ 2025 American Music Honors

The Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music has unveiled plans to honor five acclaimed musicians at its third annual American Music Honors. The event will be held Saturday, April 26, at the Pollak Theatre at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, N.J.

This year’s honorees are founding Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman John Fogerty, Motown legend Smokey Robinson, lauded country-folk singer/songwriter Emmylou Harris, Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, and influential progressive country artist Joe Ely.

Bruce Springsteen and some members of his E Street Band will be on hand to present the honors. The Boss will salute Fogerty and Ely, while Steven Van Zandt, Patti Scialfa, and Nils Lofgren, respectively, will honor Robinson, Harris, and Morello.

The event also will feature musical performances by the honorees and others. Van Zandt’s side group The Disciples of Soul will serve as house band for the festivities. Veteran TV news anchor Brian Williams will emcee the ceremony.

Tickets for the 2025 American Music Honors will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, March 25. For more information, visit SpringsteenArchives.org.

Robert Santelli, the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music’s founding executive director, issued a statement about the 2025 event.

“This year’s honorees represent a cross-section of American music,” he noted. “Rock, Americana, soul, and country are all represented by some of the most important artists from each of the genres. We are most excited to honor them and welcome them into the American Music Center family.”

More About the American Music Honors Event

The American Music Honors event was first held in 2023. That year’s honorees were Van Zandt, Darlene Love, soul great Sam Moore, and alt-country veteran Steve Earle.

The 2024 honorees were John Mellencamp, Jackson Browne, Dion DiMucci, and Mavis Staples. Springsteen also served as presenter at the 2023 and 2024 ceremonies.

It serves as the official repository for Springsteen’s music, as well as photos, publications, oral histories, films, artifacts, and other media related to the Boss and The E Street Band.
