The two-time Entertainer of the Year is a sharing previously unheard song from his catalogue in each city.

Watch Luke Combs Premiere “Wish Upon a Whiskey” in Sydney

Luke Combs certainly isn’t denying Australian and New Zealander fans his more raucous hits, like “Beer Never Broke My Heart” and “Hurricane.” However, he’s also making sure that his crowds experience the full emotional spectrum. Combs, 34, debuted an unreleased song, “Wish Upon a Whiskey,” on Friday (Jan. 31) at Accor Stadium in Sydney, Australia.

The Grammy-nominated country star shared footage of the performance to social media. “Been playing a new one in each city overseas,” Combs wrote in the caption. “Here’s ‘Wish Upon a Whiskey’ from Sydney, Australia. Hope y’all dig it!”

The heart-wrenching ballad name-checks the aforementioned whiskey: Jack Daniels, Black Label / Empty dining room table / Here we go again / Another last resort, so help me Jesus.

If Luke Combs is teasing a new album, all signs point to it being a tearjerker. He performed the similarly wistful, also unreleased “Ain’t No Cowboy” during his Jan. 17 show in Auckland, New Zealand. The mournful ballad finds Combs’ narrator lamenting the loss of a relationship and regretting not fighting harder for the woman he loves: Ain’t no cowboy, but I wish I was / We would’ve rode off together / In the setting sun / Instead of watching her Ride right out of my mind.

Combs Surprises Fans With “Pushin’ Daisies” Performance

Luke Combs is staying true to his word and premiering an unreleased song in every city Down Under. Fans attending his Jan. 25 show at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium got to hear “Pushin’ Up Daisies.” Combs had teased the tune on social media just hours earlier.

Combs penned “Pushin’ Up Daisies” with Josh Phillips and Randy Montana. The song centers around the narrator’s gratitude after surviving a near-fatal car accident.
